Goal 2: Living the dream

Being a Barcelona supporter it is a little hard for me to see our hero Santiago Munez travel to Barnabeau and lead Real Madrid to "European Glory". However, when it comes to judging the movie, it is very well made and the story is not at all dull as I would have expected to be. There are hosts of stars from the footballing world in the movie and a make believe reality embedded into it. The storyline is similar to the original movie; Munez struggling out the odds to bring glory to the club. Story takes off from where it ended in Goal 1; only this time both himself and his old time colleague Harris from Goal 1 are in Real Madrid. There develops this rivalry which comes onto surface, between Munez and Harris, as the season progresses. This brings in the element of surprise in the story. There is emotional quotient in this flick where Munez finds his long lost mother and her new family in Madrid and Munez's love life comes to jeopardy because of the usual paparazzi inflicted misunderstandings and Munez's girlfriend not giving up staying in Newcastle. More harassment for Munez, he admits a crime he did not do to save his newly found step-brother. However, all the odds add up to an optimal state and give Munez the perfect chance to straighten all out.
